Full Description

Main Compartment

Under the asymmetrical flap is an open-top main compartment. The front interior wall and interior ends of the main compartment have five sewn-on organizational pockets. The three pockets on the front interior wall are made with elastic-banded open-top halcyon or Cerylon fabric. A Clear 3D Organizer Cube can fit in the center pocket of three, and a pen/pencil case can fit in either the left or right pocket. The remaining two pockets, one on each interior end, are made with a stretchy mesh fabric. These two pockets are ideal for stowing a travel mug or water bottle. The remainder of the main compartment can store the Travel Tray, a laptop (up to 13") in a Cache, a Maker's Bag Freudian Slip, a jacket, lunch, or supplies of any kind. 

The main compartment has four O-rings, two on the front and one on each end. The O-ring on the left side of the main compartment of the Maker's Bag has an included 8" Key Strap. The O-rings are here for you when you want to tether on additional organizer pouches, Cubelets, or 3D Cubes.

On the back interior wall of the main compartment is a zippered pocket that spans the width of the Maker's Bag. This pocket is an ideal place for a small laptop (up to 11") or tablet, magazine, or folded jacket or sweater.

Zippered Pocket Under Front Flap

On the exterior front side of the main compartment is a zippered pocket that spans the width of the Maker's Bag. The pocket unzips from left to right. One O-ring is thoughtfully placed to allow immediate access to a Key Strap, Organizer Pouch, and/or wallet without even fully unzipping the compartment. 

Inside the zippered pocket are four open-top organizational pockets of equal size, perfect for storing your phone, small notebook, and glasses/sunglasses case. The remainder of the pocket has room for an e-reader, book, snacks, gloves, and other larger items. 

Slanted Slip Pocket in the Back

On the back exterior side, right behind the grab handle is a slanted slip pocket that covers the entire width of the bag. This pocket is designed to store quick-access items.

As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

The Maker's Bag Freudian Slip adds five additional pockets of organization — three zippered pockets on one side and two large open top pockets on the other. Believe it or not, the Maker's Bag can fit two Freudian Slips!

    Fabulous Messenger Bag!

    This bag is THE absolute best. I was worried that because there isn't a top inner zipper my items would fall out, but despite knocking over my bag several times it hasn't been an issue. There are so many pockets, and the inner most have elastic so my stuff stays neat and out of the way. To some extent I end up not using most of the pockets because I lose track of where items are, but It's really nice to have them. I will say that it is easy to overstuff the bag--there is so much space that I keep adding "just in case" items and will likely need back surgery in my later years lol. To help with that, the strap is long enough to use crossbody comfortably (despite ample bosom and wide shoulders). Photo shows 32oz waterbottle, 2lbs popcorn kernels, chunky travelers notebook, 1 hardcover novel, 2 notebooks, PACKED small zip pouch. Additionally, I carry: tissues, hand lotion, sunglasses, pencil pouch, 3-pen fountain pen case, hot sauce packets and tea bags. This bag is going to take me through the end of the world.

    Perfect travel bag for me.

    This bag is a great travel buddy. I took it on the road in Ireland where it looked great while it stood up to wind, rain, and salt spray! I could carry my camera, knitting, books, food etc with no problem. The easy access pocket was great for tickets, maps and phone.

    The best Every Day Carry bag

    I purchased the maker’s bag in the hopes that it could be my new EDC, and i am more than impressed! Living in a city & traveling often for work, this bag has been a great asset. I can carry everything i need regardless of what the day brings, including a 32oz water bottle and my 14” MacBook pro. The strap is incredibly comfortable for long-term wear. It can stand on its own, has double-zip pockets, and the off-center top flap allows me to reach in and grab my water, wallet, etc without having to open the whole bag. Not to mention, Cerise is the most beautiful color ever!
