Full Description

Main Compartment

The main compartment is large enough to store clothes or a 14" Macbook Pro or smaller tablet in a Cache. Inside, there are two open-top pockets of equal size — perfect spot to store an organizer, like our Clear 3D Organizer Cube or Vertical Packing Cubelet. On one interior side of the main compartment are 2 O-rings so that you can attach our Mystery Organizer Pouches and Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches. On the other interior side are a set of Cache loops for you to attach an optional Cache, stored with your device inside. 

3 Front Exterior Organizational Pockets

The Pilot has three front zippered pockets with an O-ring in each. The front left compartment also has a small organizational pocket.

The middle front pocket is designed to fit a small water bottle or compact folding umbrella. The bottom of this pocket has an eyelet so any condensation, spills, or leaks won't puddle in the bag. 

The front right pocket has four pen pockets and one O-ring which includes a Key Strap. It's the same size as the left pocket and it's perfect for storing things like a digital camera, snacks, or even a light wind shell or down vest in a Travel Stuff Sack. 

Rolling Luggage Handle Pass-Through

We know many of you like to use our bags as personal items alongside roller luggage when traveling, so the pass-through pocket is tucked on the bottom of the open-top back pocket.

The pocket also has a zipper on the bottom side so when you are not utilizing it for a luggage pass-through, you can just zip it up and store quick-access items in there.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap
As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

A Set of Black Zipper Pulls
A set of pulls to extend or replace your metal pulls.

Upgrade from the included 1.5” strap to an Absolute Shoulder Strap if you anticipate carrying a heavy load.

The 3D Clear Organizer Cube is the perfect organizer for your toiletries and is specifically designed to meet the TSA 3-1-1 liquids-program requirements. If you want a faster and smoother security checkpoint experience, use the Cube as your go-to toiletries bag.

The Pilot can accommodate a wide range of devices. If you plan on putting a laptop or smaller tablet in the interior banded open-top pocket, we recommend adding a Cache.

    Perfect person item for travel.

    The organization of this bag improved my travel experience by allowing me to pack in such a way as to be able to go through security without having to rearrange items. The separate pockets that have their own space are so helpful. I was not sure about the middle pocket working for my water bottle, but I was very happy with it. My 30oz water bottle fit and was still easily accessible. The lighter interior of the bag allows items inside to easily be seen. The convertible luggage attachment pass-through/pocket is also a great feature.

    The Co-Pilot has been my favorite bag for years, but I needed something that could hold a larger laptop. It’s everything I’ve been loving about the Co-Pilot, just a little bigger! But even then, it still carries like a much smaller bag than its capacity would imply. Love it!

    Holy Grail

    This is the largest size possible to comply with the smallest personal item guidelines for International airports.

    How does it fit so much, while keeping everything so easy to get to?

    Truly has all the right pockets in all the right places.

    I take it to work everyday now. I had no idea I needed this bag so much in my life!

    My Pilot

    This replaced a Tom Binh messenger of 25 years. This is my 'out the door for the day' on public transit bag. The large pocket can hold a warm jacket and rain slicker, so there is some place to put them when I am in doors. The small pockets have room for sun glasses, cell battery, ebook reader and all the little pieces I want to bring with. The back pocket is a place for a file folder with paperwork for whatever I am doing. I like a messenger bag rather than a backpack for public transit because I am not in danger of hitting another passenger with the pack on my back and I can put the bag in front of me so I have eyes on the contents. All the zippers and attachments are plenty robust. Its exactly what I was looking for.
