Full Description

Main Compartment

The main compartment is large enough to store clothes or a 14" Macbook Pro or smaller tablet in a Cache. Inside, there are two open-top pockets of equal size — perfect spot to store an organizer, like our Clear 3D Organizer Cube or Vertical Packing Cubelet. On one interior side of the main compartment are 2 O-rings so that you can attach our Mystery Organizer Pouches and Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches. On the other interior side are a set of Cache loops for you to attach an optional Cache, stored with your device inside. 

3 Front Exterior Organizational Pockets

The Pilot has three front zippered pockets with an O-ring in each. The front left compartment also has a small organizational pocket.

The middle front pocket is designed to fit a small water bottle or compact folding umbrella. The bottom of this pocket has an eyelet so any condensation, spills, or leaks won't puddle in the bag. 

The front right pocket has four pen pockets and one O-ring which includes a Key Strap. It's the same size as the left pocket and it's perfect for storing things like a digital camera, snacks, or even a light wind shell or down vest in a Travel Stuff Sack. 

Rolling Luggage Handle Pass-Through

We know many of you like to use our bags as personal items alongside roller luggage when traveling, so the pass-through pocket is tucked on the bottom of the open-top back pocket.

The pocket also has a zipper on the bottom side so when you are not utilizing it for a luggage pass-through, you can just zip it up and store quick-access items in there.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap
As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

A Set of Black Zipper Pulls
A set of pulls to extend or replace your metal pulls.

The Pilot can accommodate a wide range of devices. If you plan on putting a laptop or smaller tablet in the interior banded open-top pocket, we recommend adding a Cache.

    Pockets help to organize.

    Passport HERE, various Japanese writing implements THERE, my array of geezer meds in this nice pocket, cables, power supply, mobile uplink thingie, tablet, note book, personal trash bag (a must for Japan,) hand towel, etc ...

    And Now that I've worn it for 9 days I feels like part of me. I love my "Large Café," but for 4 weeks abroad, the Pilot is great.

    I think Bihn spoils us.

    Fantastic for Work Trips!

    I asked for a Pilot for Christmas and my family is awesome for getting it for me. I've recently started traveling for work and was really tired of lugging my oversized laptop bag. The Pilot fits my 16 inch macbook pro (though it's a tight squeeze with a padded case), iPad pro, kindle, all the chargers for the previously mentioned items, a 75% mechanical keyboard, wireless mouse, over ear headphones, medications, notepad, a few pens, wallet, keys, and whatever (small to medium) size crochet project I've been working on. I've just recently added a Brumate Resa and there's still room for a few other small things here and there. It fits under the airline seat really easily and with the padded strap it's very comfortable to carry, even loaded down.

    Highly recommend. The quality seems top notch and I really enjoy carrying this bag.

    Oh my goodness!!!

    There aren’t enough words for how much I loved using this bag as my ‘personal item’ on a recent trip. Coupled it with a few other Tom Bihn organizers and it was perfect. I managed to fit so much stuff in it as its storage is deceptively large for a bag its size. Built to last, super versatile, and looks great, there is nothing about this bag I can say anything negative about.

    Great Bag

    I was looking for a good tech/teacher bag that I could use daily and could also be pair with my 45L travel backpack as my personal item when traveling. This seemed to check all the boxes. I’m very pleased with it and have enjoyed using it to tote the items I need on a daily basis. Based on some reviews I watched while researching this bag, I upgraded the strap to the absolute strap. It’s a very nice upgrade since this bag can get heavy with my 12” tablet, textbooks, and water bottle .
