TLDR

The Packing Cube Shoulder Bag is a dual-purpose bag. When you're on the way to your destination, use it to organize and pack your clothing inside your larger travel bag. Once you arrive, repack the Cube and carry it as a shoulder bag by adding a shoulder strap.

Full Description

Use the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag like any other TOM BIHN travel cube. Once you arrive at your destination, attach a shoulder strap and pack your daily essentials.

Main Compartment With 2 O-rings

When you're packing for your trip, use the Cube to organize and pack your clothing inside the Aeronaut, Tri-Star, or Western Flyer. When you want to use the bag for daily use, the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag has enough space for a water bottle or light jacket. You can also attach a Key Strap on one of the O-rings and a Clear Organizer Wallet on the other.

Front Pocket With 1 O-ring

The front pocket has enough space for your phone and other daily essentials. There's also an O-ring included to attach a pouch like the Clear Organizer Pouch, Double Organizer Pouch, or Ghost Whale Organizer Pouch.

What's Optional

Most folks who use our bags have at least one shoulder strap made by us, and thus we don't include a shoulder strap with the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag. If you would like a second shoulder strap for the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag, or simply a lighter shoulder strap, choose the optional 1" Shoulder Strap.

    Great Shoulder Bag

    Recently used the packing cube shoulder bag for an international trip. It worked perfectly, holding everything I needed (including AirPod Max) in something that was small and took up no space under the seat in front of me. It was also nice to be able to use more as a packing cube when I didn't need the shoulder bag. Definitely was a great purchase.

    Perfect Purse or Packing Cube

    Quick review: its a little flimsy if you want something that has more structure this may not be for you. Other than that the halcyon fabric is strong, lightweight, and fairly water resistant. Great as a packing cube when going on a trip, as a side bag its also great to throw some stuff in and get going.

    Longer review: I don't trust any other backpack brand as much as Tom Bihn. I am addicted to backpacks and I will always save up for Tom Bihn because they last forever which is helpful for your wallet in the long run and for the planet because you are not wasting cheap backpacks in a landfill somewhere. The halcyon fabric that is used on this bag is amazing. Strong, ripstop, colorful, and looks timeless. My wife was going to buy a cheap backpack on Amazon and I had to explain Tom Bihn to her. She fell in love with the brain bag for college and travel. After seeing her with one I had to grab one for my work. We have been buying accessories ever since. When I saw her constantly carrying a fanny pack we had as a small purse I decided to pull the trigger and get her this bag in her favorite color purple. She was excited, but once she started using it it doesn't leave her side. I got her some mystery organizers to clip onto the O rings inside and it makes it even better. Now I am waiting for a Freudian Slip for the brain bag and she will be set.

    Summary: If you are into quality, fashion statements, and awesome bags buy from Tom Bihn and you will be set for life.

    Essential flying companion

    I use the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag to hold everything I want immediate access to during a flight. I always fly with my 11" iPad, which fits perfectly, as well as AirPods., and there's plenty of room for a Kindle, some snacks, a small water bottle, etc. That way you can stow your larger bags and not waste too much time rooting around in them whenever you need something.

    My favorite trick is to put a couple of Swivel Double Carabiners on the bag and use them to hang the packing cube from the seat pocket in front of me - that leaves everything accessible throughout the flight (and doesn't limit me to the space the seat pocket can hold). When we land I just detach the packing cube and put the whole thing in my backpack or larger carry-on. Then when I get where I'm going I can just attach the shoulder strap and use it as a light shoulder bag for wandering around without a big backpack.

    (And of course it'll work as an actual packing cube, too.)

    One note: there's plenty of space, but there's basically no padding at all, so keep that in mind if you plan to put expensive electronics or other breakable items in there.

    So Versatile!

    Being petite and wanting to pack as light as possible, I’ve been on the hunt for versatile and varied organizers, travel backs and carryons for quite some time! I have a handful of Tom Bihn products and continue to look for the right blend of things to pack.

    On my last overnight work trip, the goal was to backpack all things I needed. I was able to do so with the Synik 22, Every Day Cubelets, and a Packing Cube Packing Bag.

    Fantastic item that is much loved

    Bought two of these as gifts for my daughters and they loved them. Fantastic quality, design, and size, and I loved that I could get one in each daughter's favorite color! They're debating whether to save them as packing cubes or turn them into purses right away (I think purse right away is likely to win). Can't wait to add more Tom Bihn items to our collection!
