Main Compartment

Small but formidable, the main compartment has one large interior pocket and two smaller pockets (the latter made from a mock-woven elastane fabric) to hold small things where you want. The rest is open space for your phone or pouches. An o-ring on the interior lies in wait for all your key strap needs.  

Exterior Belt Passthrough Pocket

On the backside of the Bantam is a passthrough pocket measuring 2.5" / 60mm tall that fits most belts. On the top and bottom of the passthrough pocket are also two equal sized, narrow pockets that can be used to carry standard pens.

Shoulder/Crossbody Bag

We included an adjustable 5/8" Shoulder Strap, made from nylon webbing and with the same plastic clips as our Key Straps, to attach to the O-Rings on either side of the Bantam. 

Waist Pack or Sling Bag

On the sides of the bag are unobtrusive webbing loops to which you can attach an optional 1" Gatekeeper Hip Belt, using our ubiquitous Gatekeeper clips. Wear the Bantam around your waist or hips, and you've got a sweet waist pack. Wear it crossbody with the bag on your back, and you've got a mini sling bag. 

Belt Bag

Slide your belt through, and the Bantam can sit nicely on your hip, in front of you, or behind you.

Wrist Bag

Clip the Handle Loop to one of the O-rings on either side of the Bantam and carry the whole affair in hand.

Organizer Pouch

Clip one side of any of our Key Straps to the Bantam and then clip the other side to an O-ring inside one of our larger bags. That way, the Bantam stays tethered to your bag.

A simple and light-duty shoulder strap made of 5/8" nylon webbing. It is adjustable and has plastic snaphooks at each end. It does not have extra padding.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap

As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

    Practically perfect EDC bag

    I really, really don't ever need to buy another bag. My closet is full of ones I bought but don't use anymore for whatever reason. And that goes double for small waist/crossbody packs, which I seem to accumulate more than any other item in my considerable collection (which also includes the TB Side Kick and Side Effect, both of which proved too bulky for my needs, though they've come in handy to store tech and other items in my larger bags when I'm traveling.) But when I saw the Bantam in the Reverse X-Pac, I knew I had to make room for it. It is the ideal size for what I need to carry almost every day: keys. phone, wallet, reading glasses, a few pens (the pen slots on the back are genius), Field Notes notebook, lip balm, hand sanitizer, and even a small Baggu-style folding shopping bag all fit snugly. What sealed the deal for me and have made this stand out from other bags of its size and type is the multiple strap/carry options. When I travel, and especially when I'm backpacking, I sometimes like to convert my EDC bag into a gear pouch to slip into a larger pack or suitcase, and the straps that are permanently attached to most bags always make things messier than they need to be – it's been surprisingly difficult finding a small waist/crossbody pack with detachable straps. That's not the case with the Bantam. I can easily take off the shoulder strap (or in my case, the Gatekeeper strap I had on hand from a previous Tom Bihn bag purchase) and slip the strapless bag into a…

    Black Friday Limited Color - Poorly Executed & Falsely Advertised

    The bantam is one of my favorite items that TB offers. When they announced the limited release of colors for Black Friday I was extremely excited to see Wisteria returning for a limited run. All of their advertisements stated a launch at 7:00 am PT, imagine many TB fans surprise and disappointment when 7:00 am PT rolled around and items were all sold out. The product launched 30 minutes prior to their stated and advertised time. Many people were online and discovered it was sold out 15 minutes before it was even set to go live.

    The company, once hailed for its customer service, mostly gave a shrug at how the launch happened and didn’t seem concerned at all that they went against their own advertisement to loyal customers. I guess it doesn’t really matter when you’re most concerned about whether the product sells and not about how and under what circumstances it sells.

    Almost perfect!

    I love this bag so much, but… wish it was just a tiny bit bigger. I know it is meant for just essentials, but I find myself always having to carry one thing outside the bag to make it work. Whether it is my phone or sunglasses case. One of these just won’t fit in the bag with the rest. In the bag I just carry keys, small Tom Bihn pouch for wallet, and a pen. I’m constantly worried I’ll misplace my phone or glasses because I’m having to carry. Honestly just 1/2” wider at the bottom I’d be in love. I also love the shiny black material!

    Upscaled little EDC bag (when in reverse X-pac)

    I simply love this bag. Tough enough for the daily abuse I put my small EDC bags through, but still classy enough in the reverse X-pac version so that I feel put together.

    My mom was super impressed that it was made in the USA, as am I, and asked for the website information.

    I'd venture to bet that if Tom Bihn designs other EDC bags that, through use of materials or design form appear more sophisticated than competitors in the category, that it would allow them to penetrate additional market segments.

    Great small pouch for important items!

    This is a great replacement for the passport holder they offered at one point. Holds several and can be attached to your body easily or attached into your bags just as nicely. Love the style and design it offers for the carries i do.
