Description
Our Packing Cubes are designed to help you most efficiently utilize the space inside your travel bag and keep your clothes neat and organized.
Tom designs all of our bags with enough built-in organization to serve most folks well. With its three equally-sized compartments and external zippered pockets, the Tri-Star travel bag enables you to pack up your clothing and tech in a variety of ways. Adding a few optional Packing Cubes allows you to further customize your bag's storage capabilities, most efficiently utilize the space inside its compartments, and keep your clothes neat and organized.
Packing Cubes are great for holding rolled or folded clothes or an extra pair of shoes. They're especially useful for the front and back main compartments of the Tri-Star, both of which can unzip completely to clamshell open. (Note: the Tri-Star's front compartment features a zippered divider that's sized for Small and Medium Packing Cubes, keeping them in their respective places.
Sample Packing Strategies:
#1 “Just a couple of Packing Cubes”
One Medium Packing Cube (t-shirts, folded pants or skirts) and one Small Packing Cube (underwear, socks). Use the tie-down straps to secure folded slacks/skirts/shirts/jacket.
#2 “Totally Organized”
One Small and one Medium Packing Cube in the front main compartment; one Large Packing Cube in the back compartment. You can put another Small and Medium Packing Cube or one Large Packing Cube in the middle compartment, or use that compartment to carry your laptop in a Cache. Use a 3D Clear Organizer Cube (attached via a 16” Key Strap) as a 3-1-1 liquids/toiletries bag.
Of course, we offer various sizes of Packing Cubes that allow you to come up with your own packing strategy. Since all three of the main compartments of the Tri-Star are of equal size, any of the three main compartments can either fit one Large Packing Cube or the Tri-Star Packing Cube Backpack or one Small and one Medium Packing Cube.
Using a combination of Packing Cubes and a Packing Cube Backpack gives you the ability to keep your stuff organized in transit and also have a smaller, lightweight bag to use at your destination. Materials
Mesh
Our high-quality U.S.-made Mesh fabric offers two main benefits: first off, it allows you to see what’s inside the Packing Cube, but doesn’t make the contents so visible that the person behind you in line at the TSA checkpoint will know if you prefer boxers or briefs. Secondly, by its very nature (being mesh and all), it is a fabric that is mostly about its lack of fabric—it’s very light in weight.
Aether
Aether is an ultra-light, 100% nylon fabric from Japan. It has a unique and complex construction, combining 30 denier monofilament (warp and weft) with both 100 denier and 200 denier yarns in a micro-ripstop weave to further increase its tear strength. Aether is very light in weight yet provides an almost paper-like structure that we find helps to add some body to our Packing Cubes—which, in turn, makes them easier to pack.
