Summer 2022 Updates and What's Next

We're so excited summer is here! It's been a long winter here this year, and we are ready for better weather ahead (fingers crossed). 5am sunrises and 9pm sunsets definitely keep us extra energized during the workday, much needed as we are staying busy at the factory. We wanted to share a brief snapshot of the stuff we've been working. Questions? Thoughts? Leave them in the comments below!

Pre-order Updates

To all those that pre-ordered the Paramour, Smart Alec, Road Buddy Duffel 36 & 60, this update is for you: we're happy to report that all three bags have been moving smoothly through the floor, and we will have an updated timeline for shipping very soon. Look out for an email from us!

Did you miss the Paramour pre-order and regret not getting one? Don't worry, we're planning on putting another batch into production this month for a regular restock. Date of the restock is TBD, but we recommend signing up for notification alerts to avoid missing out for the second time!

As for the Smart Alec and Road Buddies, we might consider doing another run of these in the future, but for now, they remain retired.

Bringing Back Zest and Fjord

Despite our efforts to keep this a secret, many of you noticed that we had some Zest and Fjord floating around the factory and on the website! We're excited to re-introduce these colors to our line and offer them in several organizational bags as part of our 6/10 Restock. Maybe, in the future we will also use them for lining in bigger bags? We shall see!

Retirement

We will be retiring the Luminary 15 and Le Grand Derriere to make way for new designs. Once the current in stock bags sell out, they will be gone for good.

New Stuff

A new fanny pack / waist pack / sling bag is coming. We've tested this bag out in all sorts of environments: walking our dogs, casual day hiking, traveling in places known for pickpockets, running errands around the city, etc....and we love it! We think it's the perfect size for the essentials and a little more. We're excited to share with you guys some more details very soon.

Next up: The tote backpack. It has undergone many, many rounds of design iterations, been resized up and down, and been tested by multiple crew members of varying heights. Now, we finally feel like we have a bag that we're happy with. We're finetuning the details and will share more specific updates on the blog soon!

I’m super excited about the two new bag designs, especially the fanny pack. Being a petite person, I thought the LPD and LGD would be too bulky on my frame, so a smaller pack sounds perfect. I just want something to hold the essentials when I go for walks in my neighborhood or do quick errands. Can’t wait to hear/see more!

Noooo. I was waiting for the LGD to become available in night walk…

TOM BIHN replied:
Ah sorry to disappoint, we hope there is another color option for the remaining LGDs that appeals to you!

I am OVER THE MOON to see you’ll be bringing out a tote backpack. I have been through so many different brands for this style of bag, and I can’t wait to order and try out something with TB’s brilliant quality and built in organisation (all hail the mighty o-ring!). Don’t keep us in anticipation for too long, folks! :)

TOM BIHN replied:
Yay so glad you are excited, as are we! Lots of o-rings to come.

Based on your comments on the new sling, is it fair to say it’s smaller in capacity as compared to the LGD or LPD, like in the 4L or less range?

TOM BIHN replied:
That’s definitely a fair assumption, we will share more soon!

I think you mentioned that the LGD was being retired, but is the LPD still going to be around? For me, that’s actually the ideal size. I am finding mine very useful as a festival bag, and I wear it both as a waist pack and a shoulder bag. The rain flap actually seems to make it more secure in a crowded place because the zipper is harder to get to. So I’m hoping it stays in production!

TOM BIHN replied:
Yes we’re planning on restocking a batch of LPDs so folks who missed out on the pre-order and low quantity restock can get one!
