As the holiday season is fast approaching, it’s time for our annual Holiday Debuts. This year is all about nostalgia as we bring back some fan favorites. Below is a list of everything that will be available to shop at 7am PST on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Guide’s Edition Synik 30
When the climb is over, the adventure doesn’t have to be.
Our first debut returning to the lineup is the Synik 30: Guide’s Edition. Trimmed and lined in Coyote Ballistic; these brown accents blend readily with natural surroundings. The Guide's Edition Synik 30 fits naturally into the everyday, When it does get a bit dusty or dirty, it looks like it's supposed to. Made for the mountains, this bag features a one-diamond accessory strap holder on the top front and a corresponding ice-axe loop below, allowing you to carry an ice axe for high-country, early-season mountaineering, or a tripod for urban photography.
The Guide’s Edition Synik 30 is as ready for the city as it is for the summits. Engineered for explorers, it carries everything you need with the precision and durability you deserve.
Bantam
The ultimate EDC is back with a twist: Meet the 200d Halcyon Bantam.
Featuring multiple carry options–shoulder, hip, or crossbody– the Bantam is the superhero of the WPK (Wallet-Phone-Keys) bag just for essentials. We are excited to be introducing this bag in 200D Halcyon and made sure to include some special colors in the lineup. 200D Bantams will be available in Wisteria, Cerise, Kiwi, Fjord, Steel, and Solaris Halcyon. (Plus a couple very limited extra fabric bags at our Bellevue Store.) We will also be featuring the Bantam in Sunglow X-Pac for the very first time.
Swift and Yarn Stuff Sacks
The next bag returning is the Swift: our ultimate knitting tote, in brand new colorways! The Swift debuted back in 2005: in collaboration with Knitty® Magazine, we worked with the Knitty® team and came up with the Swift. It's a great bag for all kinds of crafts, and many folks will find its clear pockets and stuff sack useful features in an everyday bag. Of course, a lot of folks use the Swift for other things–lunch bags, everyday totes, general craft bags...the world is your oyster. So, get your knitting needles and crochet hooks ready!
We restocked the Swift and Yarn Stuff Sacks twice this year and sold out fast so we had to bring this combo back one more time this year! We’re excited to pack a colorful punch with these bags, introducing them in Raspberry and Saguaro Ballistic.
The Yarn Stuff Sack will also be available again in our soft pink Sakura color as well as our limited edition 200d Halcyon colors: Tahoma and Kiwi.
Tom’s Firewood Carrier
Per Holiday Tradition, our Tom’s Firewood Carrier is back for the season!
Back in the mid-1970s, Tom made a firewood carrier for his father, it was nothing fancy or new, but it did the job, schlepping firewood from the woodshed to the hearth. 50 years later, Tom’s original sample style lives. Made of a heavy-duty #8 cotton canvas main body, the carrier is made to last. It’s stood the test of time thanks in part to its simplicity: it’s a simple wrap with no ends so it can accommodate longer sticks of wood; not a tote bag, there are no zippers, there's no phone pockets, no overthinking. This year the Firewood Carrier is available in a new color Cocoa.
Skookum Dog Collar
Skookum Dog, our line of high-quality dog products, is making a brief comeback! Thoughtfully designed to endure daily wear and tear, Skookum Dog products keep your pup comfortable and ready for anything. The Skookum Dog Collar is no exception. Crafted with the same care and precision you’ve come to expect from us, it’s tough enough for outdoor adventures yet refined enough for a stroll around the block.
Built from time-tested materials, including stout nylon webbing, a welded steel "D" ring, heavy-duty acetal buckles, and thick nylon boot thread, this collar is made to last. Its rugged design is perfect for dogs who love adventure as much as their humans do.
Available in limited quantities this Friday, treat your four-legged companion to a collar that’s as durable and thoughtfully crafted as it is handsome—ready for your next journey together.
Why don’t we have Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales at TOM BIHN?
As many of you may know, we believe in fair pricing year-round at TOM BIHN and don’t run sales, specials, or coupons. We wrote about our philosophy in this Black Friday/Cyber Monday post last year. It can feel good to find a good deal but sales can be deceiving in that prices were originally marked up so that they can be marked down. We don’t have slack to mark down and you’ll know that you’re always getting the best possible deal whenever you buy TOM BIHN products.
Breaking with tradition…
This year, we are changing some things up! Instead of launching our holiday products on the Monday after Thanksgiving as we’ve done in the past, we’re moving the launch to Friday, right after Thanksgiving.
Why the change? Since the Monday after Thanksgiving falls in December this year, we wanted to give you extra time for your holiday shopping and ensure your bags arrive with plenty of time to spare.
Additionally, our Production crew will be taking their annual two-week break a bit earlier this year. To prepare, they’ve completed all the holiday products ahead of schedule so everything is ready to go for the earlier launch.
We hope this earlier launch makes your holiday shopping easier and even more enjoyable!
Lower International Shipping Rates!
We’re excited to share an update on our international shipping! Inspired by customer service feedback about international shipping rates, we reached out to all the large international shipping carriers for quotes and found a better solution. Starting this week, we’ll be using FedEx International for all international medium to large parcels (orders over $50). Shipping speed should be the same or faster and parcels will still be tracked. With this new service, we’re thrilled to announce that effective today, we’ll be able to reduce international shipping rates for medium and large packages by 10% across the board!
Thank you for your continued support—we’re so grateful for you. Happy shopping!
