Description
We present for your use these optional, removable internal frames with aluminum half stays for the Addax 26 and Addax 31 roll-top packs.
The Addax 26 and 31 can get pretty big and carry a whole lot! If you're wanting to put some weight from those bags onto your hips instead of your shoulders, using the frame sheet in conjunction with the 1.5" Padded Hip Belt can help save your shoulders some stress.
The frames are made from die-cut 0.55" thick High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), with a nylon webbing sleeve sewn down the center that encases the 1/2" / 13mm wide 6061 aluminum half stay.
Fun fact, the Addax Internal Frames are the same as the Shadow Guide internal frames! We never offered them separately in that bag since it was included by default, but in the Addax we figured a large chunk of folks won't want the frame sheet so it made more sense to us to offer it separately.
We've bent the stay to a generic spinal curve, we recommend you re-bend and/or adjust the curvature to best fit your own back (see here for instructions). If you just want a frame sheet, the stay is removeable, though it's worth noting that a frame sheet sans aluminum stay does just about nada when it comes to shifting the weight of the pack onto ones hips. (Read more about that here in our Guide to Backpack Frames).
The Addax Frame Sheets are pretty simple to install. In the frame sheet slot between the back pad and body of the bag, there are two triangular slots that the frame sheet can slide into. Insert it from the top and seat the Addax into those triangular pieces and you're as good as gold.
